Growing the Collection

THE ARCHIVE IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

Although FCIP Maps already has a substantial collection of preserved maps, we believe additional creations may still exist outside the current archive.

Some may be stored on original Xbox 360 hard drives, memory units, old computers, or personal backups.

Others may have been shared privately between friends and never uploaded to a public community website.

Our long-term goal is to recover and preserve as many of these creations as possible.

HOW THE COMMUNITY CAN HELP

We plan to support community submissions so players can contribute maps that are missing from the existing collection.

Potential sources include:

  • Original Xbox 360 storage devices
  • Personal map backups
  • Archived community downloads
  • Maps created or shared by players who still have their original files

When submissions become available, visitors will be able to upload compatible map files for review.

PREVENTING DUPLICATES

Submitted maps will be checked against the existing archive.

Where possible, our extraction system will identify the map's original title, creator, description, and other embedded information automatically.

We also intend to compare file hashes to help identify duplicate map data, even when filenames differ.

PRESERVING ORIGINAL AUTHORSHIP

Our goal is to preserve maps with their original creator information whenever it is available.

Submitting a map does not make the submitter its original creator.

All community submissions will be reviewed before publication.

If you still have original Far Cry Instincts: Predator maps, we hope you'll consider contributing when submissions become available.

Every recovered map is another piece of community history that can be preserved.
